Phew…
Well, Christmas is drawing to a close now. The presents are opened, paper cleaned up, dinner made. We had Hunny online today most of the afternoon. It made it less like we were apart for Christmas. I actually felt better than I did the year he was here and I was back home. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoyed having that last one with our families, but this year him and I didn’t feel so far apart to me. The poor man has an ass kickin’ cold. I hate when he’s sick and I can’t take care of him. He watched the girls open their presents (he had a moment of denial when our oldest child pulled bras out of her stocking *grins*), we watched him open his. And I opened mine. I’m currently wearing one of them. My black lounge pants with Jack Daniels labels…anyone that knows me, knows how happy these made me! Thanks Mom!!
I also got a gorgeous red chenille scarf/hat set from Mom. Alyssa made me a pretty wreath, and gave me a framed Christmas picture. Hunny’s gift is on it’s way, can’t wait to find out what it is. But the best gift by far was first of all, him being safe, and second, spending the day with him.
Gramma also got each girl a 3 foot bear. they are so soft and cuddly. I want one. brown for my brunette child, blonde for my blonde. Also from Gramma they each got a binder and lunch bag set. From Santa they got portable DVD players and movies, Cd’s (one of which turned out to be an empty case…wtf??), a few toys. They seem quite content with everything. And as of now they are both ready for bed. Leaving me an evening of peace. All in all it’s been a good Christmas. Adapt and overcome. That’s the key.
the count down begins for the New Year. That’s the day I’m looking forward to most. Saying good-bye to the year my Hunny left, and ringing in the year he comes home.
